How To Install Fonts

Once you have downloaded or unzipped a font into a folder you must install the font into the fonts folder of your computer. There are two ways of doing this:

A. Using the "Add Fonts" dialogue box

  • From the Start menu choose Settings, then Control Panel
  • Double-click the Fonts folder icon
  • Click on File in the Fonts window, then on Install New Font

  • TheAdd Fonts dialogue box will appear. Select the drive (usually C), the folder containing the new font, and the font itself by clicking its name.

  • If after installation you still cannot read the web page in your language try setting the encoding.

B. Using Drag and Drop

  • From the Start menu choose Settings, then Control Panel.
  • double-click the Fonts folder icon to open it.
  • Click the Start button, then Find or Search, then Files or Folders.
  • Type the name of the font file and click on Find now or Once Windows has found the new font, click and drag it onto the open Fonts folder and release the mouse button. This will install the font.
  • If after installation you still cannot read the web page in your language try setting the encoding.
